Professional Skills
My professional career spans over two decades. Throughout my professional growth, each position has helped develop my skills. Those skills allowed me to advance upward and build on. For example, as an educator at the Tallahassee Museum, I was responsible for leading groups/camps/workshops. I created lesson plans and organized events. There diverse programming allowed me to created the first sensory based inclusion program for Autistic students.
As a director of a Boys and Girls Club, I turned a once failing club into a thriving diverse after school program with 150% increase in membership and parent participation. Managing over a dozen staff, our stellar program often caught local news stations in spotlighting our accomplishments. Community outreach. became a vital component at our club, so we hosted health and college fairs, GED and literacy programs and community beautification projects. My previous positions at the Tallahassee Museum, Center for Autism and Related Disability, and Big Bend AHEC, allowed me to bring much needed programming in the community.
My role as a historical interpreter has been at the heart of my profession. While at the Tallahassee Museum, I created the first African American history program. My love for programming allowed me to continue developing hands-on history based programs for students I served as a director and the community.
